Trail Armor Full Skids with Standard Slider Nerfs or Trimmed | 2016-2023 Polaris General XP 1000
Elevate your off-road experience and safeguard your Polaris General 1000 and General XP 1000 with Trail Armor's comprehensive full skid plate set. Designed for models from 2016 to 2023 (refer to the picture gallery's "See also fits chart" for specific models), these skid plates are constructed from Trail Armor's proprietary blend of ultra-high molecular weight polymer, offering exceptional durability and protection.
At a thickness of 1/2", these plastic skids are lighter compared to traditional metal or aluminum skid plates, making them more agile on the trail. Unlike metal skids, they are designed without "impact memory," enabling them to absorb shocks without denting, galling, or corroding over time.
Trail Armor takes pride in being the first in the industry to incorporate formed leading edges on their skid plates. These leading edges serve as protective barriers for vulnerable frame edges and wheel wells, guarding against blunt edge impacts and facilitating smoother navigation over obstacles. The skids also feature extended side panels that double as slider nerfs, providing additional safeguarding for the sides and rocker panels of your vehicle.
If you have Polaris Extreme Kick Out Rock Sliders, Trail Armor offers a trimmed version of their sliders to ensure complete underbody protection. These trimmed sliders extend approximately 1/2" beyond the bottom of the rocker panel.
Comparing Trail Armor's skid set coverage with other manufacturers' offerings, you'll find that competitor skids often leave the rocker panel unprotected or require separate slider nerfs. Some competitors may even overlook coverage for the front differential area entirely. In contrast, Trail Armor's skid plates are designed as easy-to-install panels that span the entire length and breadth of your vehicle, including comprehensive coverage for the front and rear differentials. The lap-jointed panels create a seamless sliding surface, eliminating catch points that can impede your ride.
Access holes are strategically placed to facilitate maintenance and oil drainage, while drain holes allow dirt and debris to be flushed out without the need for skid removal. Individual panels can be removed if necessary to access specific areas without uninstalling the entire skid plate.
Trail Armor's skid plates feature recessed mounting holes, protecting fasteners from damage and preventing bolt heads from protruding from the skid's surface. Each kit comes with corrosion-resistant hardware and detailed, photo-documented installation instructions. Installation videos, if available, can be found on Trail Armor's website, usually in the form of YouTube videos.
Equip your Polaris General with Trail Armor's full skid plate set and enjoy unparalleled under-vehicle protection for your off-road adventures.
