Aftermarket Assassins S4 Clutch Kit with Heavy Duty Primary & Secondary | 2018-20 Ranger XP 1000 STD / Crew (New Body Style)
Our S3 Recoil Clutch Kit is compatible with all 2018-20 STD Ranger XP 1000 Models and 2019-20 Ranger XP 1000 Crew Models featuring the NEW Ranger XP 1000 Body Style. However, please note that it does NOT fit Ranger 61HP Single Cam Models. This is the clutch of choice for our shop vehicles, suitable for trail rigs as well as high horsepower setups.
The kit includes our complete heavy-duty AA primary clutch, featuring the same design found on the 2016-2020 RZR Turbo models with an encapsulated tower design. This clutch has proven to hold power better, withstand heavy use without exploding, and provide minimal belt slippage. It meets the demands of high horsepower vehicles and offers superior belt grip compared to billet clutches, especially at higher RPMs. The primary clutch is a specially designed version made with higher grade tool steel for the post and assembled with AA HD sliders to our AA specifications. With this clutch, you'll experience better power transfer (improved acceleration) and lower belt temperatures compared to your OEM P90X clutch or any other aftermarket clutch.
The kit includes the AA Primary Clutch, Primary Bolt, AA magnetic adjustable clutch weights, AA primary spring, weight setup sheet, custom primary spring limiter, replacement factory secondary clutch, AA secondary spring, our AA custom cut helix, and now includes AA Extreme Heavy Duty primary sliders (installed in the clutch). Please note that the primary clutch does not come pre-assembled. You can set up your weights according to our setup chart, and then install the weights and spring. Alternatively, we offer the +$25 option to have us assemble the primary clutch for you. Just let us know your engine modifications and tire size/type.
Our S4 Recoil Clutch Kits (S3 kit with a replacement secondary) deliver a significant performance boost! No matter the terrain, they provide powerful engagement and sustained pulling power. Whether you're on the trail or at the race, expect wicked acceleration and instant clutch response when re-engaging the throttle after aggressive maneuvers. In sandy dunes, you'll notice the same benefits, with reduced bogging when climbing large dunes. The kit maintains RPM levels, allowing for faster and more efficient travel.
For mudding, our mud setup ensures improved tire rotation through thick and deep mud, providing better RPM and wheel speed, which is crucial for climbing out of challenging holes. We have a wealth of CVT knowledge and a genuine passion for the sport, and we've extensively tested different setups in real-world scenarios. Our kit optimizes primary clutching, ensuring a smooth engagement and eliminating the factory jerk off idle.
When combined with our tuning, our clutch kit enables higher RPM capabilities, allowing you to reach the peak power of the Ranger 1K motor. It's a must-have when running larger tires, offering faster acceleration, wicked throttle response, and quicker downshifts. Additionally, it ensures cooler running belt temperatures, leading to longer belt and clutch life, and promotes more consistent clutch performance.
Our Recoil clutch weights are equipped with simple magnets for easy adjustability. They feature a custom AA profile and the BEST coating on the market (nitrocarburizing), providing increased wear resistance, improved fatigue strength, and enhanced surface lubricity. These clutch weights offer exceptional performance and the flexibility to tune for various applications or future modifications without requiring extra parts. The magnetic weights are strategically positioned to optimize performance for your specific application.
We provide a comprehensive setup guideline to assist you in configuring the weights for different tire sizes and other variables, ensuring the clutching is correctly set up. However, please note that this clutch is louder at idle due to loose spider/slider tolerance until the engine RPM ramps up. It may slightly contact the plastic at idle, making a few wear marks (extremely uncommon, but possible due to cover variances). Please use care when tightening the turned-down (shortened) head primary bolt with an 18mm 6-point socket to prevent stripping. Similarly, the 6 spring cover button head Allen bolts are easy to strip if you use the wrong size (or standard), as they are 4mm. Therefore, use the correct tools and sizes.
We highly recommend using our Stryker Belt, as it provides superior grip in the clutch. To remove your OEM clutch, you will need the P90X clutch puller, while the AA clutch uses the standard XPT/XP1000 primary clutch puller.
In case of alignment issues, use our P90X Secondary Clutch Alignment Shim Kit (Part number: 116-1012) to rectify the situation and set things straight.
