These 1/2" plastic skids provide exceptional strength while being significantly lighter than traditional metal or aluminum skid plates. Unlike metal skids, our skid plates possess no "impact memory," meaning they absorb shocks without denting, galling, or corroding. Trail Armor pioneered the design of skids with formed leading edges—featured on our skid plates—to safeguard vulnerable frame edges and wheel wells from blunt edge impacts. These leading edges also act as a smooth starting point to slide over obstacles effortlessly, minimizing resistance and drag compared to metal skid plates.

Furthermore, Trail Armor skids feature extended side panels expertly shaped to function as slider nerfs, ensuring comprehensive protection for your vehicle's sides and rocker panels. When comparing skid set coverage with other manufacturers, you'll find that Trail Armor's design excels—our slider nerfs are included, whereas others either sell them separately or leave the rocker panel unprotected. Our skid plates consist of easily installable panels that cover the entire length and width of the vehicle, including the front and rear differential. The lap-jointed panels create a seamless and smooth sliding surface, eliminating catch points that can be found in stacked skids with hard edges.

To facilitate maintenance, access holes to service points and oil drains have been strategically placed, making upkeep a breeze. The skids also feature well-positioned drain holes that allow dirt and debris to wash out, eliminating the need for their removal during cleaning. In the event that specific areas require access, individual panels can be removed without dismantling the entire skid plate.

We prioritize the longevity of our skid plates by incorporating recessed mounting holes that protect fasteners from damage, preventing bolt heads from protruding the skid's surface. Each kit is supplied with corrosion-resistant hardware and accompanied by photo-documented installation instructions.
