The Polaris RZR Pro R is a high-performance side-by-side (SxS) utility terrain vehicle (UTV) designed for extreme off-road adventures, particularly in demanding desert and dune environments. Rugged Terrain provides a wide variety of parts & accessories to upgrade the Pro R to handle the most extreme conditions. As Polaris' most powerful RZR model, it combines race-proven durability with cutting-edge engineering to deliver unparalleled power, control, and agility. Available in two- and four-seat configurations, the RZR Pro R lineup includes the standard Pro R and the elite Pro R Factory variant, the latter being a first-of-its-kind factory race-ready UTV optimized for competitive events like the Baja 1000 and DAKAR Rally.
At its core, the RZR Pro R is powered by the ProStar Fury 2.0 engine—a naturally aspirated, 4-cylinder, 1997cc powerhouse producing up to 225 HP in standard tunes or 255 HP in the high-output race-tuned Factory version. This electronic fuel-injected engine pairs with an automatic PVT transmission and Pro Performance True 4WD system, offering selectable 2WD/4WD/4WD Lock modes for adaptive traction across varied terrains. The drivetrain features a robust belt and oversized clutch designed for high-torque demands, ensuring reliability and reduced wear during intense rides.
Suspension is a standout feature, with the MaxLink system providing up to 29 inches of usable travel (27 inches front, 29 inches rear in the Factory model) for soaking up rough terrain. It includes light-weight boxed A-arms, stabilizer bars, and race-tuned FOX 3.0 Live Valve X2 shocks with electronic Dynamix DV 3.0 semi-active damping, allowing for real-time adjustments in compression and rebound via selectable Baja modes. This setup, combined with a 74-inch stance and 17.5 inches of ground clearance, delivers exceptional stability and handling.
Design-wise, the RZR Pro R boasts a bold, athletic exterior with sleek lines, aggressive accents, and functional elements like prerunner bumpers, full UHMW skid plates, and integrated light mounts. The refined cockpit prioritizes driver comfort and control, featuring optimized touchpoints, a 7-inch RIDE COMMAND touchscreen for navigation and connectivity, and premium options like Sparco race seats, 6-point harnesses, and a suede-wrapped steering wheel in the Factory trim. Advanced tech includes MoTec instrumentation, RIGID LED lighting, and pre-wiring for accessories like navigation or fresh-air pumpers.
Key dimensions for the Pro R Factory include a 158 x 74 x 72-inch overall size, 104.5-inch wheelbase, and estimated dry weight of 2,510 lbs, with a massive 34.3-gallon fuel capacity for extended excursions. It rolls on 35-inch BFG KR2 tires mounted on Method Bead Grip wheels, and braking is handled by Alcon floating rotors with adjustable bias. Starting at around $34,999 (plus destination fees), the RZR Pro R series is built for enthusiasts seeking to dominate the off-road world with raw power and precision engineering.
